Layered Armour: HeartBreaker

For years I have wanted a more, medieval, take on the armour we use in 5e, and I finally figured out how to make it happen with minimal work on the player or GM side. There are 3 layers; inner, middle, and outer. You can wear gambeson for your inner, a hauberk in the middle, and plate harness for your outer. Add up their values and subtract that from any damage.

AC becomes the damage reduced while Defense takes its place to determine how hard it is to be hit. Once again, a minimal change is made: Defense is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier (plus special stuff that barbarians and monks get).

Included is not only the base armour sets and pieces that can be worn, but also magical armour and apparel that benefits you in ways other than their magic.
